A gym for your chess mind.
Sixty-second drills that train board vision, memory and calculation, until you can see the board without looking at it.
Know every square by name.
Strong players don’t count files. They just know where e4 is. Coordinates trains that reflex until notation and board are the same thing in your head.

Then the pieces disappear.
Look at the position, let it go, and answer from memory. Memory uses real puzzle positions in the app. It’s the first step toward playing blindfold: holding a board in your head and still seeing it clearly.

Thirteen drills. One minute each.
Every drill trains one thing your eyes do during a game. Play them against the clock for the leaderboard, or slowly with three lives until they click.

Timed: 60 seconds and a Game Center leaderboard per game. Training: no clock and three lives. Stats track accuracy, streaks and your progress over time.
Same challenge for everyone. Every day.
The Daily Challenge picks one drill from each of three categories, chosen by the date, plus an extra round once you finish. Everyone gets the same set, so a streak means something, and it syncs across your devices with iCloud.

In the app, the Daily Challenge card sits at the top of Home.

What I’m building next.
MindChess is built in public. Here’s what’s already working in development and what is still at the design stage. Nothing here is in the App Store yet.
Chess clock
In developmentPresets, increments and delays, saved sessions, and a page that explains each time control.
Foldable iPhone
In developmentLayouts that split at the hinge, and a clock you can lay flat between two players.
Achievements and profile
In developmentGoals for every drill and a profile that shows your progress.
Public roadmap
In developmentVote on what comes next and send suggestions from inside the app.
Study and repertoires
DesignTrain your openings with spaced repetition, line by line.
Engine analysis
DesignStockfish on the device to review your own games.
Scoresheet scanner
DesignPhotograph a paper scoresheet or a diagram and get the game in PGN.

Design mockups from my Spanish design kit, not the final app.
Made by one developer, in public.
I’m Omar, an indie iOS developer in Madrid. I build MindChess in SwiftUI with AI agents as part of my workflow, and I share the progress every week: what shipped, what broke, what’s next.
